Local SMEs then pitched on their blue sector activities and on their specific innovation needs and ambitions. Their current activities ranged from diving and other underwater activities, visits to underwater archaeological sites, guided city tours, fishing, travel agency activities, destination management, etc.
Among companies’ innovation ambitions and ideas there were promotion and marketing of underwater activities, development of innovative touristic products and services such as Virtual Reality (VR) equipment for VR tourist visits, raising ecological awareness in tourists and engaging them in litter collection on the beach in exchange for souvenirs, fish products design and branding, design of tourist excursions coupled with fishing points demonstrations, etc.
Based on these mutual pitch presentations from both sides, a series of B2B meetings were arranged on the next day, allowing all the KPs and companies to meet individually and explore possibilities of developing a joint innovation project to present for funding through 4helix+ Innovation Vouchers.
